This is one of my Time Sketches and a way to get started with a story. I don’t have to follow what I have down but it gets the creative juices flowing and in a glance you can see a pretty good outline that can’t be seen if you’d have written it out in paragraph form.
I met with one of my students yesterday 1-28-16 about a story that she is writing. We did some brainstorming and sketched up this quick map of where her story might take place. I’m a stinker when it comes to scale and the forest area or roughly 12,000 acres might not be large enough. As the crow flies from the new development in the bottom right hand corner to town is about 3.5 miles. She thinks that the woods should take more than a day to cut across them. Still the layout could stay the same while the scale changes. Fun, fun, fun, I do like drawing maps.
